VO2MAX

The VO2Max Cardio Fitness Assessment

CURRENTLY, THIS SERVICE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO MEMBERSHIP HOLDERS AND PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES. THIS SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

This is a 5 to 13-minute cardio fitness test that helps you determine your target heart rate zones for Fat Burning, Aerobic, and Anaerobic fitness activities. VO2Max will provide the amount of oxygen you utilize during exercise for a Fitness Grade ranging from Poor to Superior, and provide the number of calories you burn in each zone per 60 minutes of exercise.

HOW IS THE TEST PERFORMED?

VO2Max is conducted on an Ergometer bike with a Hans-Rudolph mask to evaluate your gas exchange and heart rate as you exercise at different intensities for 5-13 minutes.

WHO IS THE VO2MAX DEISGNED FOR?

If you are a professional endurance athlete, then the VO2Max is appropriate for you.

The VO2Max can help provide important information that will help you condition and perform optimally.

HOW DO I BOOK A VO2MAX APPOINTMENT?

Currently, the VO2Max services are only available to Metabolic Health Membership Holders, Liquivida® Practitioner Referrals, and Enlightened Living Program Participants. VO2Max is not available to the general public at this time.

CAREFUL PRE-SCREENING IS REQUIRED

Each client who meets the initial criteria of participation will go through a detailed pre-screening process to determine fitness for participation in the VO2Max Test.

Due to the stressful nature of this test, VO2Max is not fit for everyone. To keep clients safe, a very strict process is in place.

What Can I Do with The Information from VO2Max?

You can create a more accurate wellness plan centered around the data from the VO2Max. This information helps you know when you are being properly challenged and when you are over-training your body. Over-training your body can have extremely negative consequences for your health.

You can provide this data to a personal trainer, conditioning coach, registered dietitian, nutritionist, or physician to help them create a wellness plan to help you reach your goals.

How Often Should I Evaluate My VO2Max?

Recommendations vary from client to client depending on their needs and goals. If you are training for a specific deadline, it is common for athletes to re-evaluate within 60 to 90 days of implementing a training program to see if the conditioning is helping them get closer to their goals.

When will I get my results?

Your results will be immediately available for you on the date of your appointment. A brief result review will be provided after the test is completed, but no consultation or fitness plan is included.

How To Prepare for VO2MAX

The VO2Max test requires fasting from food, caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and exercise for a minimum of 12 hours prior to your assessment and is conducted on an Ergometer bike with a Hans-Rudolph mask to evaluate your gas exchange and heart rate as you exercise at different intensities for 5-11 minutes.

These factors affect your true metabolic function and will cause the data provided in the test to be wrong if you arrive improperly prepared.

It is best to schedule your VO2MAX first thing in the morning before working or being active to capture a true evaluation of uninfluenced baseline function. The optimal times for this test are between 6 am and 12 pm.
