Let’s Talk Sex: It's Time to Speak Up For Better Sexual Health

Its Time to Speak Up For Better Sexual Health

There’s a saying that goes something to the effect of “most men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Okay, so it probably wasn’t referring to sexual health, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t apply.

In a fast-paced world where most of us are just trying to meet the priorities and responsibilities of the day, health and wellness rarely even make it on the “to-do” list, especially when it’s about an uncomfortable topic, such as decreased sexual performance.

It may be on the mind, causing frustration and despair, but it is frequently suffered in silence.

Newsflash: Keeping quiet about it is not the answer.

A short, uncomfortable conversation now is hands down better than a lifetime of unfulfilled living. Better to raise the issues now than not be able to rise to the occasion in the bedroom.

We’re not just talking about erectile dysfunction here. Though ED impacts millions of men worldwide, there are other sexual concerns, including low libido, the desire for longer-lasting erections, and better-quality sex. And there are plenty of good reasons to address them, from reducing stress to improving relationships and even saving marriages.

What are some of the main factors contributing to less-than-optimal sexual health?

  • Poor cardiovascular health
  • Hormonal changes/imbalance
  • Medications, such as beta-blockers, antihistamines, opioids, and diuretics, which can cause side effects that impair sexual health
  • Mental Health, stress, anxiety or depression

As modern and enlightened as we would all like to think we are, the topic of sex is still considered taboo for so many. At Liquivida® we encourage clients to think of sexual health as an essential aspect of overall health and well-being. We believe that:

  • Sexual health should be considered just as important as emotional or physical health.
  • Good sexual health contributes to an improved quality of life and better relationships.
  • Good sexual health is related to good cardiovascular health and can help prevent diseases

It’s time to normalize the conversation about this important topic.

Discussing sexual health doesn’t need to be awkward. At Liquivida®, our approach is wellness-focused, with empathy and understanding. We educate you about the normal changes in sexual function at different stages of life. We can recommend podcasts that can be listened to in the privacy of your own home that focus on sexuality and the struggles many people face. This often helps our clients be more receptive to discussing their issues.

We’re also launching a new telehealth platform solely focused on sexual wellness for anyone who is looking for a convenient, easy, and discreet way to pursue help. Stay tuned for that.

You have options…

Whether you speak with one of our wellness coordinators remotely or in person, they are there to listen, reassure you, and, from there, begin to make recommendations. There are more treatment options available today than ever before, from GAINSWave® and exosomes to peptides, PRP, HRT, prescription medications, and supplements that offer effective solutions to help restore overall sexual wellness.
